American Innovations Introduces APM2AM – New 2 Channel Wireless Remote Monitoring Device

AUSTIN, TX – July 19, 2002: American Innovations is now offering a new addition to their Bullhorn® family of wireless remote monitoring products – the APM2AM. This device is very flexible and ideal for general monitoring, cathodic protection monitoring, and test point monitoring. It has 2 channels, which can accept analog (+/-5V, +/-50mV, or 4 to 20 mA with external resistor) or digital signals.

Just like the rest of the Bullhorn family, the units can be set to report by exception when under "alarm" conditions or at pre-configured "health check" intervals. Alarms can be configured in a variety of ways, and advanced alarming capabilities, which eliminate false alarms, are standard in the product. Automatic alarm notification can be sent via fax, page, or e-mail.

"American Innovations is committed to providing the best value in wireless remote monitoring. The newly released two channel unit is sized for smaller point count applications and provides an extremely cost effective way to monitor remote equipment," explains Lee Blankenstein, AI's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Applications for this unit include cathodic protection monitoring and pipe to soil measurements. With this release, American Innovations offers a new PVC enclosure which effectively hides the antenna from vandalism while offering an option for an integral permanent half cell."

The standard APM2AM has a lithium battery capable of 1500 transmissions (approx. 4+ years transmitting once/day); it's optionally available in an anodized aluminum enclosure and/or with the gel cell battery with solar or AC charger.

The Bullhorn system uses the MicroBurst™ wireless network from Aeris.net to transfer information from remote equipment to a central database. In seconds, data packets are transferred from the Bullhorn unit over the cellular network to the Aeris.net operating center and on to AI's secure web site where packets are decoded and the data is posted for customers to view or to download.
