American Innovations Introduces New Satellite Wireless Remote Monitoring Device: Get Data From Your Equipment Anytime, Anywhere

AUSTIN, TX – March 9, 2004: American Innovations (AI) is offering an exciting new addition to their Bullhorn® family of wireless remote monitoring products—the APM4AM-SAT. The APM4AM-SAT uses the Inmarsat D+ satellite system for communication and is an excellent way to supplement installations where 100% cellular coverage is unavailable. It is ideal for international use and enables equipment monitoring in very remote locations.

The APM4AM-SAT monitors many different kinds of equipment including cathodic protection equipment (rectifiers, test points, and critical bonds), city gates, compressors, storage tanks, pumping stations, pressure, flow, temperature and much more. In addition to monitoring inputs from equipment, the Bullhorn APM4AM-SAT provides automatic notifications of alarm events via voice notification, fax, page and/or email. With secure access, data can be viewed on the Internet from anywhere in the world, day or night.

“Our new satellite capability extends the coverage of the low-cost, reliable Bullhorn Wireless Remote Monitoring System allowing communication from those areas without cellular coverage,” explained Lee Blankenstein, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AI. “This technology will allow Bullhorn to provide 100% coverage while remaining the lowest cost solution available. Also, our customers can now easily monitor their assets in international locations since the satellite system covers the globe.”

The APM4AM-SAT has a total of 6 inputs. Channels 1-4 can be analog or digital; channel 5 can be digital or an accumulator; and channel 6 can be digital or an accumulator reset. It is powered by a lead acid battery charged by a solar panel or AC charger. For corrosion applications, it can be used with rectifier interfaces, test point filters, and surge protection. UL/CUL approval is pending for installation in hazardous locations.
