American Innovations Forms Two Divisions; Will Phase Out
Bass-Trigon Name
AUSTIN, TX – June 24, 2005: American Innovations,
Ltd. (AI) announced that it has formed two divisions and intends to
gradually phase out the Bass-Trigon name. The Field Data
Division (FDD), headquartered
in Austin, includes the Bullhorn® Remote Monitoring System, Pipeline
Compliance System (PCS), Allegro Field Computer™ and MicroMax™ GPS
synchronized current interrupter products. The Integrity
Management Division (IMD) includes all integrity management
products and services and is headquartered in Littleton, Colorado. These
moves reflect changes in name only; no employees will be displaced,
moved or reorganized as a result of these actions. While effective immediately,
these actions reflect organizational changes that were implemented in
October 2003 and the phase out of the Bass-Trigon name is expected to
be accomplished over the next three to six months.
Since the 1996 merger of Bass Software with Trigon
Software, the Bass-Trigon name has been associated with the leading
products for corrosion and integrity compliance. Following its acquisition
from Corrpro Companies in March 2003, Bass-Trigon Software was operated
as a wholly-owned subsidiary of AI. In October 2003, management of the
PCS and Allegro Field Computer products was moved to Austin to better
balance resources and alignment with customer contacts.
“The Bullhorn, PCS and Allegro product lines
are all sold to the same customers. While the Integrity Management Division
sells to the same companies, its sales contacts within those companies
are almost always different,” explained Rich Smalling, President
of American Innovations. “Combining the Bullhorn, PCS and Allegro
products aligned our development and sales efforts with customer needs.
It also freed up IMD to focus completely on meeting the incredible demand
for its products and services.”
AI retained the Bass-Trigon name following the October
2003 realignment in order to maintain continuity within the industry
and foster an orderly transition of the product lines. Since the assets
of Envirosense were acquired and combined with the Bullhorn, PCS and
Allegro products in November 2004, it has become increasingly apparent
that the Bass-Trigon name is creating confusion within the industry
and within the AI organization.
“American Innovations has established its own
presence in the corrosion industry as a company whose products work
reliably and offer good value. With the addition of the Bullhorn i-series
ICP and MicroMax GPS synchronized current interrupters, the Field Data
Division of American Innovations provides one stop shopping for the
corrosion professional that needs best-in-class tools to accomplish
corrosion surveys and manage survey data,” explained Lee Blankenstein,
Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Field Data Division. “We
will continue to improve our solutions for collecting, managing and
assessing field data both through internal development and by seeking
to acquire other leading product lines.”
“Obviously, at least for Jim Bass and myself,
the Bass-Trigon name will always have a special place in our hearts.
The business has grown to more than ten times what it was when we merged
in 1996,” said Mike Gloven, President of the Integrity Management
Division. “The realignment of products in October 2003 allowed
IMD to focus completely on satisfying the demand for our integrity management
solutions. Effectively labeling these divisions helps communicate this
focus to our clients. IMD will expand its solutions for integrity management
both by continuing to develop innovative new solutions in-house as well
as seeking strategic acquisitions.”
The Bass-Trigon name will gradually be replaced by
American Innovations’ Field Data Division and Integrity Management
Division as appropriate. American Innovations is also taking this opportunity
to consolidate the websites of Bass-Trigon and American Innovations
into one website. For more information, please see our web site (www.amerinnovations.com)
