American Innovations Develops New RSSI Testing Device To Ease Bullhorn® Installations

AUSTIN, TX – March 4, 2002: Bullhorn®, American Innovations' low-cost wireless monitoring system, checks inputs from equipment remotely and provides automatic notification of alarm events by fax, page and/or e-mail. Bullhorn monitors all kinds of remote equipment including pumps, storage tanks, compressors, cell towers, gas, water and electric meters and more.

The RSSI Tester is used to make installation of Bullhorn systems easier. It can be used to survey locations for proper cellular signal prior to installing a Bullhorn unit. This device scans the cellular network in a particular area and reports the SID number (system identification number), carrier channel, and signal strength.

The device tests the operation of the wireless data network by transmitting a special test packet over the Aeris communications network to the American Innovations Network Operating Center (NOC). The NOC will decode the data and issue a page to the originating device, which, if successful, verifies that the network is operational and that the signal strength is adequate for operation. The device is capable of detecting overlapping SID numbers within the coverage area. It is also capable of selecting a desired SID in order to test the Aeris network. The RSSI Test Device is powered by a lead acid gel cell battery.
